Stuart S. Golding Company was founded by Stuart S. Golding, a leading shopping center developer in Florida and Massachusetts. Loren Pollack joined the company in 1964. When the company was acquired by U.S. Home Corporation in 1971, it became known as U.S.H. Properties Corporation and served as the commercial division for the company. In 1975, Mr. Golding and Mr. Pollack left to re-form the Stuart S. Golding Company as co-owners of the family business. Together, they masterminded the evolution of shopping developments in the Tampa Bay and surrounding areas. Additionally, they were instrumentally involved in the restoration and redevelopment of the historic Willard Hotel in Washington, DC.
In 1989, David Scher joined Stuart S. Golding Company as co-owner of the family business after Mr. Golding’s passing. The Company has since developed more than twenty-five projects constituting more than 4,000,000 square feet. These projects have ranged from national grocery anchored neighborhood centers to enclosed two-level malls to medical and professional office space to retail storage centers.
In 2011, SSG Management, LLC was created to focus solely on the property management, leasing, and development of retail, professional, medical and storage sites, while Stuart S. Golding Company continued to focus on development, ownership of and investment of sites.
